The climate is heating up far faster than predicted and some scientists believe we have only four years left to avert serious environmental damage from climate change.
Your Council is considering becoming a solar city to provide financing to homeowners to help them go solar – saving money and helping to fight climate change.
Over 40% of energy consumed by an average home is used to heat water. By installing a solar hot water heating system you can cut this energy use by around 75% and generate a $450 tax free cash saving for an average family every year.
This initiative is part of our SolarCity Revolution designed to build a network of solar cities across the nation and make New Zealand 100% solar by 2020.
Nelson became New Zealand’s first SolarCity following a series of studies funded by us, the Nelson City Council, the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA)and the Tindall Foundation. Along with your Council we are interested to know what you think about your city becoming a solar city. Please take the time to fill in this questionnaire to register your opinion.
