About UsSolarCity is New Zealand's only all-in-one solar power company and has put more Kiwi-made panels on homes and businesses than any one else. We are in business for a purpose: to help create a cleaner world, a sustainable future and transform New Zealand to be 100% solar by 2020. |
Vision
As the nation's leading manufacturer of solar panels, we’ve put more Kiwi-made panels on homes and businesses than anyone else.
Our aim is to revolutionise the energy market and make a big difference in the fight against climate change.
The sun bathes the earth in an incredible amount of energy, in a day enough arrives to power the world for several years. We envisage solar systems on the roof of every building, backed up by other microrenewables, supplying clean power and achieving deep cuts in carbon emissions.
We work with architects and developers to incorporate solar technology into the built environment and offer support and guidance through the entire planning and development process.
Working alongside Nelson City Council and the government's Energy Efficiency Agency (EECA) we helped develop the scheme that has established Nelson as New Zealand’s first Solar City.
We are in business for a purpose: to help create a cleaner world and a sustainable future and to transform New Zealand to be 100% solar by 2020.

Sustainability
SolarCity is the world's first carboNZeroTM certified all-in-one power company.
You can read more about our certification on the carboNZero website.
We are independently audited annually by Landcare Research, the Government’s leading
Crown Research Institute who license us to use the carboNZero accreditation, which is the
world’s first certification scheme under ISO 14065. You can view our published disclosure pages showing the most updated information on our total emissions, reduction effort, verification firm, how many credits and certificate number from this carboNZero disclosure site.
The environment in New Zealand is unique and largely pristine. All our components are
selected based on strict criteria focused on minimizing our impact on the environment.
We produce site specific sustainability plans for all our larger installations and select
products which can be recycled or reused at the end of their useful lives.
