This new Kiwi designed and engineered product has been developed by solarcity and Panasonic over the past three years as part of an ambitious plan to make New Zealand’s power 100% renewable and reduce consumers dependence on the grid. The solarZero home battery is a fully a rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed to store energy for load shifting, backup power and self-consumption of solar power.
The solarZero energy service was launched a little over three years ago by solarcity, New Zealand’s leading solar provider. In partnership with Panasonic, solarcity has been selected as a finalist in the 2018 NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards, announced earlier today, for helping Kiwis shift to clean, affordable and secure energy.

The NZ-owned company’s solarZero energy service, which combines clean solar power and grid power at exclusive low rates, received the award for the Most Innovative New Service for 2017.
Tesla Powerwall will be integrated into the company’s solarZero energy service nationally over the coming weeks following the successful commissioning of its first Powerwall 2, solarZero system in August.
