Former Infratec Renewables general manager Peter Apperley has joined solarcity’s executive team.
solarcity says Apperley brings experience in leading successful bids for renewable energy and electricity distribution contracts in the Pacific. He will head the firm's commercial solar team.
Apperly has overseen more than $6 million of renewable energy and electricity distribution contracts in the Pacific in the past 18 months, including the 960 kW Rarotonga Airport solar farm. Previously, he led Meridian Energy’s solar development programmes as its corporate ventures manager.
solarcity holds contracts for more than 1 MW of solar projects across the Pacific and has 1.5 MW of commercial projects for New Zealand clients, including Auckland Council.
Apperley says the Nelson-based firm has “cracked the code" to scaling distributed energy generation and he looks forward to having a role in the development of larger scale commercial projects across Australasia.
