To kick off 2022, we’re bringing solarZero customers a greener way to browse the internet at their home.
solarZero customers have been able to bundle broadband, powered by 2degrees, to their solarZero energy services since 2018. And, since we launched the service we’ve always been on the lookout for ways to make it better. Last year, for example, we added a fibre broadband option so solarZero customers could surf the internet at the speed of light. We also increased the value of bonus goodies a customer received when they signed up.
This year, we’ve decided to make the broadband offer greener. With every new broadband connection, each customer will be helping the environment by contributing to native tree planting projects in partnership with Trees That Count.
Liesel Rowe, solarZero Sustainability Lead believes this is another example of solarZero showing its commitment to the environment in the services offered to GridforGoodTM customers.
“As well as being a Toitū carbonzero certified business, we are continuously looking at ways we can make environmental improvements. We are excited to be able to contribute towards the planting of native trees through the new partnership with Trees that Count. It is one of many environmental initiatives we have planned for 2022.”
- Liesel Rowe, solarZero Senior Marketing Manager and Sustainability Lead
Why greener broadband?
At solarZero our commitment to the environment extends to everything we do. We already offset all emissions generated from operating our business, and we’ve been Toitū carbonzero certified since 2011. It’s all about living the value of Kaitiakitanga and looking after our environment for generations to come.
Why Trees That Count?
We’ve followed the work of Trees That Count for several years and have worked with them in the past. Just like us, they’re a New Zealand company working to create a positive impact on the environment and help mitigate the effects of climate change. So, we’re excited to further extend the relationship.
“Planting native trees is one of the most powerful actions we can take to combat climate change, protect our beautiful landscapes, waterways and forests for future generations”
